Maoists Set Afire JCB, 3 Tractors At Construction Site In Kandhamal

Phulbani: In another instance of Red attack, an armed group of Maoists set at least three tractors and a JCB afire near Balimaha under Baliguda block in Kandhamal district on Wednesday night.

According to sources, over 40 armed ultras barged into a contractor’s camp, thrashed the manager and then set the vehicles parked near it on fire.

The ultras left a poster before fleeing the area. Through poster, they warned the contractor not to go ahead with the construction work of a road connecting Balimaha and Gumudumaha, police sources said.

Combing operation has been intensified in the area following the incident, the sources added.
