Phulbani: Panic gripped Baliguda area in Kandhamal district after Maoists set fire to four vehicles of a road construction company on Sunday night.
According to reports, around 10 to 12 armed Maoists arrived at Kanjalagu ghat and asked the company’s workers to stop a road construction work in the area. They then torched a truck, tractor, tanker and a road roller.
The attackers left behind some posters in the name of Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division of CPI (Maoist).
In the posters, the Maoists have protested against the recent encounter in Sirla forest and asked people to observe a bandh on August 18.
Following the incident, combing operation has been intensified in the area.
