Maoists Torch Two JCB Machines; Threaten Panchayat Poll Boycott In Odisha’s Kandhamal

Phulbani: Maoists on Monday night set two JCB machines on fire at Kiamunda village under Phiringia police limits of Kandhamal district.

Police said the two machines belonged to Trishakti firm that was engaged in road construction work from Nuapadar to Pindangi.

Fortunately, no one was hurt as it late night night. They have also left behind a poster at the spot threatening to boycott the ensuing panchayat polls.

On getting information, Phiringia police reached the spot and are  investigating into the case.

A few days back a journalist died in an IED blast triggered by Maoists near Karlarkhunta Bridge in Odisha’s Kalahandi district. He had gone to the spot to take visuals of the Maoist posters put up near the bridge in Madanpur Rampur block, urging the local people to boycott the panchayat poll.
