Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 cases marginally dropped in the capital city where 170 persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours compared to 197 cases on Tuesday.
The city had reported 168 new cases on Monday, 237 on Sunday and 275 on Saturday.
Among the fresh cases, 31 are from quarantine and 139 local contacts. Among the local contacts, maximum 11 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 9 from Patia and 8 from Khandagiri, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
While 186 patients have recovered during the period, the number of deceased has gone up to 989 with two more deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,390 active cases while the affected tally has touched 10,5,850, the BMC added.
