Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 on Monday with 444 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours.
Of the fresh infections reported from 23 districts, 59 cases (13.28 per cent) are below 18 years of age.
Odisha had registered 585 new COVID cases on Sunday, 602 on Saturday, 539 on Friday, and 644 on Thursday.
According to the I & PR department, 258 of the new cases are from quarantine and 186 are local contacts.
Khurda district reported the highest of 170 new infections, followed by Cuttack (73) and Mayurbhanj (37). Seven districts reported nil cases.

Odisha now has 5,702 active cases.
With these cases being detected from 62,715 samples, the current test positivity rate (TPR) is 0.70 per cent. The TPR was 0.86 per cent on Sunday, 0.83 per cent on Saturday, 0.78 per cent on Friday and 0.89 per cent on Thursday.
