Marginal Rise In Daily COVID Caseload In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The capital city witnessed a marginal rise in daily COVID cases on Wednesday as 186 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours against 138 on Tuesday and 147 on Monday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 38 of the new infections are from quarantine and 148 local contacts.

Of the local contacts, maximum 16 cases were reported from Chandrasekharpur, followed by 13 from Khandagiri and 8 each from Nayapalli and Mancheswar.

Bhubaneswar also saw 152 patients recovering from the virus during the period while the number of deceased due to COVID remained at 1,014.

The active cases did not have any change from yesterday’s 3,604 while total 1,11,359 people have been infected so far.

Last week, the city had logged 218 new cases on Sunday and Saturday, 267 on Friday and 213 on Thursday.
