Married Woman Attacked By Lover In Odisha’s Berhampur

Bhubaneswar: A married woman was severely attacked by her lover allegedly in an act of revenge after their relationship soured in Odisha’s Berhampur city on Monday night.

According to sources, one Shubham Sahu of Raghupati Nagar under Ladabazar police limits was in a love affair with the married lady. Due to some reason, Shubham shifted to Valmiki Nagar a few days ago.

The woman, who earlier got financial support from the man, kept asking for more assistance from him even after he changed his address. However, Shubham refused to give her any money. He also had several doubts about her character.

Shubham allegedly made up his mind to eliminate the woman and attacked her with a sharp weapon when she was returning home after picking up her son from tuition. As a result, she suffered critical injuries on her head, ears, hands, legs, and back.

He also attacked the tuition teacher’s sister when she came out to save the woman. After listening to their screams, the accused escaped from the spot, and the woman was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.

Later, Shubham surrendered at Badabazaar police station and alleged that he took the step as the woman was blackmailing him.
