Berhampur: Maheswari and Silu Meher were leading a normal life after their marriage in Balipindi Bandha under Buguda police limits of Ganjam district.
Six months back, Silu absconded after getting involved in a theft case. In his absence, Maheshwari developed an extra-marital affair with Deepak Sahu of Dhenkanal. Three days ago, when Deepak had come to Buguda, they decided to marry in a temple.
Somehow, Silu cam to know about it and reached Buguda on Thursday night. He confronted Deepak and Maheswari who were hiding in a house near Malijhola temple.
Deepak and Maheswari told Silu about their plan to get married. When Silu vehemently opposed to it, the duo allegedly strangled him to death. Police managed to nab the two accused while they were trying to flee after dumping the body of Silu.
Acting on a complaint filed by Silu’s brother, police have registered a murder case.
