Maruti S-Cross To Get Petrol Engine Soon

Days after announcing that diesel cars would be discontinued in 2020, Maruti is reportedly readying a petrol powertrain for the S-Cross.

Autocar on Saturday reported that the new 1.5-litre K15B engine that does duty on Ertiga and Ciaz will be plonked into the S-Cross. The engine makes 105hp power and 138Nm torque. The smart hybrid (mild) will also be available. A 4-speed automatic is also expected.

The S-Cross will also get the new 1.5-litre diesel that Maruti is developing, which however will be for sale for just around a year.
