The country’s biggest car-maker Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday announced that it will pass on the corporate tax reduction benefit to consumers.
It has slashed the prices (ex-showroom) on Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Dzire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross by Rs 5,000.
However, other manufacturers such as Toyota, Hyundai and Honda are reportedly reluctant to cut prices due to corporate tax reductions.
The automobile industry is facing its worst sales ever, with Maruti’s sales falling 34.3 per cent in August. This has lead to hefty discounts and offers on almost all cars. Maruti has announced discounts ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹1,01,200 and is hoping to get a boost in the upcoming festive season.
Maruti Suzuki’s next product is a small hatchback named S-Presso. It will be launched on September 30.
