Maruti Suzuki on Monday launched its new S-Presso hatchback or ‘Mini SUV’ as the company calls it.
The S-Presso is slightly bigger than Alto K10 and is powered by the same 1-litre K-series engine in BS6 avatar. It is built on 5th generation HEARTECT “K” platform with 40 per cent high tensile strength steel. This indigenously built SUV will be exported to South America, Africa and Asia.

LXI – Rs 4.05 lakh
VXI – Rs 4.24 lakh
VXI AGS – Rs 4.67 lakh
VXI+ – Rs 4.48 lakh
VXI+ AGS – Rs 4.91 lakh
The S-Presso measures 3665 mm in length and 1520 mm in width. The new car wears 13-inch wheels in the lower trims and 14-inch ones in the top variants. The 998cc, 3-cylinder petrol produces 67 bhp power and 90Nm torque at 3500 rpm. There’s an AMT option as well.
It delivers 21.4 kmpl on the manual variant and 21.7kmpl on the automatic variant.
The car has a turning radius of just 4.5 metres.
In the interior, there’s a distinct orange coloured dial at the centre which features a 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system.
Safety wise, the car is loaded with dual airbags, antilock braking system (ABS) + electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and reverse parking sensors as is the standard.
