Rourkela/Koida: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted around Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint from the office of a mining firm at Raikela under Tensa police outpost of Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district at midnight.
The entire incident has been caught in the CCTV camera installed inside the office.
According to sources, five masked miscreants, disguised as drivers, entered the office of Gitarani Mohanty Mines armed with guns and axes. They held the employees hostage at gunpoint and coerced them into handing over the locker keys. The miscreants also beat them up and threatened to kill them.
The approximate value of the cash looted is estimated at Rs 9,35,250.
On being informed, police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The CCTV footage is being examined to identify and nab the culprits. It is being suspected that some locals might be involved in the daredevilry heist.
