Rourkela: Two masked miscreants looted more than Rs 14 lakh from an employee of a liquor shop in Odisha’s Rourkela city on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place when the employee, Prashant Biswal, was going on a Scooty with Rs 14,93,400 given to him by the shop owner from Koel Nagar to his office at Uditnagar at around 8 am. Just after he left the shop owner’s house, he was followed by two persons wearing masks on a motorcycle.
As Prashant reached RMC office, the miscreants interrupted him by blocking his path. One of them brought out a gun and pointed at Prashant’s head, while the other took out a knife. They demanded him to hand over the money bag.
As soon as Prashant handed over the money bag in fear of his life, the miscreants sped away on their bike. On being informed a team from Uditnagar police station went to the spot and launched an investigation. While the miscreants were yet to be identified, the police were trying to trace them, the sources said.
