Nabarangpur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted around Rs 15 lakh from a businessman at gun-point in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the incident took place when the businessman, Abdul Ansari of Pathan Sahi in Raighar of the district along with his two aides was going to the weekly market at Chhatabeda under Parua gram panchayat around noon.
The looters wearing masks on their faces approached them and told Abdul to hand over the money bag. As he resisted, the miscreants attacked him and his aides.
Overpowered by the miscreants, the trader and his aides were injured in the attack. The miscreants pointed a gun at Abdul and snatched the money bag. Before the locals arrived at the spot, the looters fled the place.
Later, the locals admitted Abdul, who had sustained critical injuries, in a local hospital. On being informed, a team from Raighar police station went to the spot and started investigation.
