Rajgangpur: Unidentified miscreants attacked a petrol pump workers and looted about Rs 2 lakh from him in Odisha’s Sundargarh on Thursday.
As per reports, the incident took place when Anil Kumar Tiwari, who works in a petrol pump in Padajamapali in Rajgangpur of the district near National Highway 10, was on his way to a nearby bank to deposit the cash.
Three masked miscreants came on a bike and intercepted him near Lomloi in the town. As they attacked him with a knife, Anil fell from his motorcycle. The miscreants snatched his bag containing cash and fled on their bike.
On being informed, a team from Rajgangpur police station reached the spot and admitted Anil in Rajganpur Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Rourkela as his condition deteriorated.
“I couldn’t see the faces of assailants as they were wearing masks. They attacked me and kicked my motorcycle. I fell and shouted for help but no one came to my rescue from nearby areas,” Anil told the media.
