Masked Robber Uses Spray To Loot Jewellery Shop In Bhubaneswar



Bhubaneswar: As Bhubaneswar witnessed a series of loot incidents in the last few days, a daring daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Kalinga Vihar area has shocked the residents of the capital city.

The robber adopted a novel method to loot the jewellery shop located in a busy area under the jurisdiction of Tomando police station. The entire incident has been captured in CCTV.

The visuals showed that the miscreant came on a scooter and went inside t

he jewellery shop posing as a customer. The masked robber sought to see some ornaments on the pretext of making purchases for sister’s wedding.

While making queries about the prices of the ornaments, the miscreant suddenly sprayed something, suspected to be a chemical substance, on the salesman’s face. As the salesman struggled to save his eyes, the robber escaped with ornaments, including five gold rings, a chain and a bracelet.

The shop owner stated that the value of the looted ornaments is estimated at around Rs six lakh.
After receiving information, police have launched an investigation into the incident and examining the CCTV footage available in the area as part of efforts to identify the robber and apprehend him.

Tamando police are scrutinising CCTV footage from the jewellery store as well as the surrounding areas to identify the accused.
