Sambalpur: Twenty couples exchanged vows at a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Akanksha Ladies Club of JSW BPSL here.
In a function full of community spirit and love, the couples celebrated new beginnings together with their families and neighbours.
More than just a wedding, it was an initiative to support families in need.
Many of the newly-married couples are from socially and economically backward communities, whose families would have struggled to organise a wedding with traditional ceremonies because of financial challenges.
The Akanksha Ladies Club took the responsibility to make this dream a reality.
Around 500 guests from all the families, along with township residents, local dignitaries and village sarpanches, were present to witness the heartwarming occasion.
Akanksha Ladies Club president Neelam Singh wished all the couples a happy married life.
The club has been backing charitable efforts, from supporting local weaver communities to providing medical and educational aid to underprivileged children.
