Two big earthquakes hit Haiti and Alaska on Saturday.
A tremor of magnitude 7.2 on Richter scale shook Haiti at 5.59 pm IST, with the epicentre being 118 km west of Port-au-Prince, capital of the Caribbean island nation.
The other earthquake, measuring 6.9, occurred in Alaska, United States, 12 minutes earlier, the National Centre of Seismology reported.
It comes a fortnight after the most powerful earthquake in half a century hit the US state.
