Bhadrak: More than 15 houses were reduced to ashes in a massive fire at Nuagaon village under Bansada police limits in Bhadrak district on Saturday.
The fire is being attributed to an electrical short circuit.
However, no injury or casualty was reported in the mishap.
“The fire erupted from a house and spread to the adjoining ones within minutes in the congested locality. We request the district administration to compensate our losses and provide us with houses as the affected families have nowhere else to go,” a villager said.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees and at least five families were rendered homeless in the fire mishap.
Most of the victims have been forced to take refuge in the houses of their neighbours.
