Cuttack: Telephone services in the city were disrupted after a massive fire broke out at the BSNL office on Friday.
A BSNL staff told the media that the fire started from a room at the fourth floor of the office around 11 am. The room is used to store cables, wires and power batteries, he said.
The intensity of the fire was so severe that the fire extinguishers kept inside the office did not work. Five fire engines were trying to douse the fire till reports last came in.
Meanwhile, seven fire services personnel have gone inside the building to locate the source of the fire.
