Baripada: Local fishermen caught a massive freshwater turtle from the Jambhira Dam in Deuli, in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
According to reports, some fishermen were fishing in the dam in the morning when the turtle was trapped in the net.
The fishermen informed Forest officials about their unusual catch after bringing the turtle to the surface.
According to Forest officials, the weight of the turtle is about 30 kg and it will be around 50 years old.
The turtle was later released in the dam water.
