Bhubaneswar: With intra-party feud in state Congress reaching a crescendo, president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Prasad Harichandan on Saturday hinted at a big change in the party organisation.
Speaking to mediapersons, Harichandan said the young AICC member Jitendra Singh, who was recently appointed as the Odisha in-charge by party high command Rahul Gandhi, will visit the state soon.
“Some OPCC office-bearers met Singh in New Delhi. As per information, Singh will visit Odisha very soon and prepare a roadmap to strengthen the party,” he said.
A roadmap for revamping the organisation has been prepared, which will be executed after the approval of the Odisha in-charge, he added.
“We have been saying since a year that the Odisha Congress will have the Nabakalebara (restructure) with the organizational elections right from the booth level to the top. Besides, there will be elections for president at the block and the district level and the results will be announced soon,” Prasad informed.
