Cuttack: The evaluation of the answer sheets of the annual Matric examination began at 61 centres across Odisha on Thursday with strict adherence to the health guidelines of the state government for coronavirus.
Talking to the media, president of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Ramashis Hazra said arrangements have been made for the examiners for the evaluation of papers by maintaining a distance of one metre from each other.
“Evaluation in all centres has begun after sanitizing the chairs and tables. Besides, adequate hand sanitizers and soaps have been kept at all centres for the examiners to properly wash their hands before and after the evaluation,” he said.
Hazra also said that the evaluation will be held in three shifts to avoid the large gatherings. “The first shift evaluation will be held from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, the second shift from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm and the third shift from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. In case any examiner is taken ill, he/she will be immediately taken to the hospital for treatment,” he added.
All subjects will not be evaluated at a time this year as a precautionary measure to prevent mass congregation of examiners, he added.
About 16,000 teachers are engaged in the evaluation this year.
