Jharsuguda: A student of Bhaunra High School, appearing for matric exam, here died after falling off his bicycle in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Monday morning.
Talking to mediapersons here, the father of the deceased said he fell off his bicycle while on his way to the examination centre at Baghati High School and became unconscious. Following the incident, some locals called for an ambulance.
He was later taken to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors pronounced him as ‘received dead’.
The hapless father, however, maintained that the life of his son could have been saved had the ambulance reached in time.
“The ambulance arrived after an hour,” he added.
The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) was not available for comment till filing of this report.
