Matric Student Run Over By Truck In Odisha’s Paradip

Paradip: A student, appearing in the ongoing annual Matric examination, died in a road accident near the Lock police station at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district on Saturday morning.

According to reports, Jagannath Mallick, son of Kuna Mallick of Kothi Nirmal village, had come to Paradipgarh to attend the post-death rituals of his uncle.

On Saturday, he had gone to a nearby market to fetch cold drinks. While returning to the house of his uncle, he was run over by a speeding truck near the Lock police station.

Following the accident, police rushed to the spot and arrested the truck driver and seized the vehicle.

Tension ran high in the area following the death of the schoolboy as the locals staged a demonstration in front of the police station.
