Bhubaneswar: Three-day long mega cultural extravaganza Mayurbhanj Utsav was concluded at Utkal Mandap in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Organised by Mayurbhanj Cultural Organisation, the Utsav showcased the cultural heritage of Mayurbahnj district which attracted the visitors.
The drum beats reverberated open auditorium while lip smacking food and traditional crafts reflected the lifestyle of Mayurbhanj people.
The third-day evening opened with energetic Chhau dance ‘Garba Ganjan’ by Maa Kachakeswari Chhau Nrutya Pratisthan and Jhumar Dance by Om Traditonal Jhumar Group. The most attracting performance of the evening was Mallakhamb by Rasamtola Nodal UP School.
Differently-abled artist Bikash Das’s dance performance amazed spectators. Comedy king Papu Pom Pom, Tapas Sargharia and Salil Mitra entertained people with their comical performance.
Among others, Ollywood artists Bijay Mohanty, Mihir Das, Swaraj Barik and eminent artist Jatin Das also graced the occasion. Baripada’s famous Mudhi-Mansa was the main attraction at the food stall. The three-day Utsav was inaugurated by Cultural Minister Ashok Panda on Friday.
