Bhubaneswar: In a note discovered by police, MCA student Ashrita Senapati, who was found hanging in her rented house in Odisha’s capital on Tuesday, has alleged harassment by her boyfriend.
In the note, Ashrita told her mother that she had been beaten and harassed by her boyfriend, according to a report on an Odia news portal. She told her mother that for the last two days, she had not stopped crying.
Ashrita wrote that she would miss her parents wherever she was. She further wrote in the note that she always wanted to work and make her parents proud but that dream will remain unfulfilled. She asked her parents to forgive her.
Saheed Nagar police on Wednesday detained her boyfriend, identified as Satyaprakash Das. He works in an IT company in Bhubaneswar.
Ashrita and Das hail from the same village in Bhadrak district.
She was found hanging inside her rented house in Acharya Vihar on July 5. She was pursuing MCA at a private engineering college in the city.
