Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar, has arrested Amrita Kindo, Managing Director (MD) of Diya Dairy And Agroprocessor Pvt Ltd, in connection with a Rs 100 crore loan fraud.
Amrita Kindo was arrested from Bhubaneswar on Sunday on the basis of a complaint lodged on behalf of Annapurna Finance Pvt Ltd, Khandagiri.
According to the complaint, her husband Deepak Kindo, who is the MD of Sambandh Finserve Pvt Ltd, had allegedly availed a loan of Rs 5 crore from Annapurna Finance Pvt. Ltd in 2020 by forging documents and misappropriated the same without refunding the amount to the company.
He had approached the company for the loan for carrying on financial activities effectively by giving loans to different SHG and Joint Liability Groups.
The investigation further revealed that Sambandh Finserve Pvt Ltd had raised funds more than Rs 100 crore in a similar manner between 2015-2020 from different investors/ lenders like DCB Bank, SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India), BOPA PTE Ltd. (a Singapore-based Company) and DIA Vikash Capital Pvt Ltd and misappropriated the same by diverting the amounts to their sister concerns.
Diya Dairy And Agro Processor Pvt Ltd is a sister concern of the company.
Between 2017 and 2020, an amount of Rs 22.72 crore of the loan availed was diverted to the accounts of Diya Dairy And Agro Processor Pvt Ltd and misappropriated. The investigation is still underway.
Amrita Kindo was remanded to judicial custody after the SDJM court here rejected her bail plea, the official release said.
