Bhubaneswar: The Media XI lifted the 12th edition of Tata Steel Friendship Cup Cricket Tournament trophy, here on Saturday. The media team defeated the bureaucrats by 2 runs.
Manoj Mohapatra of Media XI was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for scoring 37 runs in 15 balls. The team elected to bat after winning the toss and scored 62 runs in 10 overs by losing 10 wickets. The bureaucrats could manage to put up 59 runs, two short of the target, at the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated overs. DB Swami was the highest scorer of the team at 14.
The battle lines were drawn after bureaucrats defeated the leaders in the first match and the media scored a two-run win over Tata Steel in the second.
