Puri: A pregnant woman delivered a baby at the Puri district headquarters hospital (DHH) entrance because of alleged medical negligence on Saturday.
Sources said the woman reached DHH in a 102 ambulance on Saturday night. Though her husband completed all hospital formalities, the woman remained at the hospital entrance in the absence of facilities. It is alleged that no wheelchair was available to ferry her and the doctors and staff, too, did not attend to her immediately.
As a result, she could not reach the operation theatre and delivered a baby boy at the hospital entrance.
Following the incident, tension prevailed on the hospital premises and family members of the patient demanded necessary action against the authorities concerned.
