Rairakhol: Sub-divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) Bipin Bihari Sahu was on Monday arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 5,500 bribe from the attendant of a patient at Rairakhol subdivision hospital in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
According to Viligance sources, Sahu had demanded the illegal gratification for conducting an operation on the patient, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
When repeated requests fell on deaf ears, the attendant of the patient lodged a complaint at the office of Sambalpur vigilance division and accordingly a trap was laid in his office.
He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
