Bargarh: Police have arrested the owner of a medicine shop in Odisha’s Bargarh for alleged sale of spurious medicines.
According to sources, an FIR was registered at Town police station in Bargarh against Sunil Agrawal, the owner of Ashok Medical Hall in the town along with three drugs suppliers of Varanasi on Tuesday. They were accused of sale, supply and distribution of spurious drugs in the state.
Following this, Sunil has been arrested under Sections 274, 275, 276, 420, 467, 468, 471,120B, 336, 483, 486 and 34 of IPC. The drugs suppliers are Baby Enterprises, JP Medicals and Guru Kripa Medical of Varanasi.
On Wednesday, another FIR was filed against Amit Kumar Sarawgi, propriator of Amit Medical Agency along with two supplying firms of Varanasi.
As Amit Kumar Sarawgi belonging to Jharsuguda was found absconding, his brother Ajay Kumar Sarawgi has been taken into custody by police, the sources said.
