Bhubaneswar: Amid the COVID gloom, there is something to cheer about for Odia singer-actor Anuradha Panigrahi. She had recorded six songs amid the pandemic and is eagerly waiting for their release.
Produced under the banner Rasheswari Entertainment Productions, the songs have been penned by Devdas Chhotray, Devidutta Mohanty and Subrat Swain.
The songs are ‘Prajapati Dena Mora’, ‘Duiti Dina Kheliba Pain’, ‘Tama Hasiba Tama Ragiba’, ‘Asuchu Jauchu Tu Chha Nku Chha’, ‘Jahna Dise Adhe Adhe’, and a devotional song, ‘A Jivana Tuma Dana’.
Music of these songs has been composed by Manmath Mishra, Omm Prakash Mohanty, Bikash Das and Prem Anand.
This is not all, she will also be seen as the female lead opposite Sambit Acharya in Odia film Dil Re Aachhi Tori Naa, which is due for September release.
“I am now working for Manjari TV’s movie ‘Whistle’. Rajendra Mohanta is the director of the movie,” said the 20-year-old.
Anuradha made her foray into the music industry when in Class III. “I had also participated in national-level reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs. After this, I got an opportunity to sing in a music video,” she said.
Anuradha also did playback for the movies, Happy Ending, Tu Mora Sweet Sixteen, and Dil Re Achhi Tori Naa.
“My father is a huge fan of singer Anuradha Paudwal. That is why he named me after her. He wanted his daughter to become a singer. I started learning music at the age of nine,” said the 20-year-old.
She honed her singing skills under Gurus Bhimsen Moharana, Gopinath Mohapatra, Laxmi Narayan Behera and Pandit Debendra Narayan Satpathy.
Anuradha has rendered voice to over 50 songs in Odia, Telugu and Bengali languages.
She is also a trained Odissi dancer.
“I started learning Odissi dance in 2009. I have completed Visharad in Odissi under the tutelage of Guru Trilochan Sahoo,” she added.
Anuradha is pursuing Bachelor in Dental and Surgery at Sri Sai Dental College and Research Institute in Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh.
“My aim is to become a good actor. Besides, I want to serve the poor and needy people. ,” said Rayagada girl Anuradha.
