Meet World’s Oldest Newlyweds, Who Set A Guinness World Record

New York: ‘Love has no age, no limit, and no death’ is a famous saying.

An American couple has literally lived up to this.

Bernie Littman, 100 years old, and Marjorie Fiterman, 102, recently became the world’s oldest newlyweds. The Guinness World Record acknowledged the remarkable achievement of the evergreen couple, with a combined age of 202 years.

“Most of the couples I marry these days met on some kind of dating app. I much prefer the old ways, where you live in the same building, bump into each other, and fall in love,” rabbi Adam Wohlberg, who officiated the marriage ceremony, told Fox News.

In the presence of their loved ones, including four generations of Bernie’s family, the couple exchanged vows under a traditional Jewish chuppah after being escorted to the venue on wheelchairs.

The love story of Bernie and Marjorie began nine years ago, at a senior living community in Philadelphia, where they first met at a costume party.

They connected immediately, and their bond deepened over time, culminating in a wedding ceremony on May 19 at the same place where they first set eyes on each other.

Both Bernie and Marjorie had already experienced fulfilling and enriching lives, having been married for over six decades to their previous spouses before losing them due to old age.

Adding to the charm of their romance was the fact that they both attended the University of Pennsylvania at the same time in their youth, but never met then.

Bernie went on to become an engineer, while Marjorie was a teacher.
