Kyiv: The Ukrainians are putting up a brave and spirited fight against Russian forces in the war declared by Vladimir Putin 11 days ago.
Intense shelling by Russia troops and retaliation by Ukrainian army have led to heavy civilian casualties in Kyiv, Kharkhiv and other cities. But it hasn’t come in the way of two hearts coming together even as they fought for their motherland.
Lesya and Valeriy of the 112 brigade of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense got married on Sunday.
“Today, in the field conditions of #UkraineRussiaWar, of the 112 brigade of the territorial defense, Lesya and Valeriy got married. The military chaplain got them married,” Kyivpost posted the news on social media along with a picture of the couple.
This is not a unique case of love in the time of war.
A few days ago Klevets and Natalia Vladislave got married in a bomb shelter in Ukraine’s port city Odessa.
A Belarussian media house posted pictures of the couple, with the groom wearing a uniform and bride holding a bouquet.
