Men Achievers Receive Shrie Awards

Bhubaneswar: The Parichay Foundation organised the fourth edition of Shrie awards here on Saturday.

The award ceremony organised every year on the eve of Father’s Day had to be postponed by a month due to the devastation caused by cyclone Fani. This is the only award ceremony in the state that exclusively honours and felicitates men achievers in 12 categories.

Rajya Sabha member and Odissi danseuse Dr Sonal Mansingh graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the event in the presence of KIIT and KIIS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta and Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Kolkata, Zha Liyou.

While lifetime achievement award was presented to Ajay Agarwal, other recipients included Dr Neelamadhab Rath (Medical Science), Guru Bichitrananda Swain (Art and Culture), Uttam Tripathy (NRO), Madhusudan Das and Dhirendra Thakur (Social Work), Dr Satyabrata Minaketan (Education), Pranab K Pani (Entrepreneur), Siba Mohanty (Media) Pravat Baral and Piyush Ranjan Rout (Sports), Avinash Nanda (Entertainment), Manoj Sahoo (Photography) and CA Samir Kumar Samal (Special mention).

This apart, Parichay also felicitated individuals for their exceptional work towards the society in the aftermath of Fani.

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata also handed over a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh to Parichay for women empowerment in Fani-affected areas.

A cultural function was also organised on the occasion. While disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Digvijaysingh Chauhan, mesmerised the entire audience with Hindustani classical Bansuri recital, playback singer Anindita Dash rendered a song on unit and harmony.

There was also a storytelling session by Prachitara.

Founder President, Parichay Foundation, Rosalin Patasani Mishra said, “Every year, we are getting achievers who are joining us from all over the country and that fill my heart with pride. They are all inspirational in their own right. I want to thank each one, including my team members, who have stood with us over these years encouraging us to do good work for women and child empowerment.”
