Bhubaneswar: To recognise and acknowledge the contribution of men to the society, Parichay Foundation organised Shrie Awards 2017 on the eve of Father’s Day here on Saturday.
Actor-turned-politician Satrughan Sinha was the chief guest of the second edition of the event. As many as 14 men were felicitated for their significant social impact, though away from limelight.
Speaking on the occasion, Sinha spoke about how delighted he was to be Sonakshi Sinha’s father. He also praised the efforts of the foundation in bringing out a difference in the lives of underprivileged women and children.
Among the awardees were Raghunath Mohapatra, Amarendra Khatua, Akshay Parija, Ramaraman Sarangi, Sanyas Behera, Chandrasekhar Rath, Pramod Bhagat, Sanjat Kumar Mishra, Bimal Mishra, R N Barik, Manoranjan MIshra, Amarendra Sahu, Jitendra Jagadev and Smruti Ranjan Parida.
“We have been organising Arya Awards on the occasion of International Women’s Day every year. The idea of awarding men and women is to appreciate good work on one platform,” said founder of the foundation Rosalin Patsani Mishra.
