Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising population and residential colonies in Mendhasala under Bhubaneswar Urban police, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to upgrade the police outpost located in the area as an Industrial Police Station.
Mendhasala is a growing industrial area where many national level public and private educational institutions and industrial establishments like IIIT, NALCO R&D Centre, Birla Global University, GIET have come up.
The new police station will cover four gram panchayats and one ward of BMC in an area of 150 square kilometers and a population of one lakh an official release said on Saturday.
As many as 34 new posts will be created for the new station. There are five personnel in this out post and two posts will be recruited from SP Police Motor Training Institute. There will be a total of 41 officers and staff in this police station.
These 34 new posts include an Inspector, four sub-inspectors, six ASIs, two havildars and 21 constables. The existing 5 posts are – one sub-inspector and 4 constables.
