New Delhi: German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched its EQC fully electric SUV in India. The luxury SUV has been priced at ₹99.30 lakh ex-showroom, India. The price is said to be introductory for the first 50 units. It is currently imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU).
The SUV has a 80kWH lithium-ion battery with a range of 400 km under ideal conditions. The battery comes with an eight-year warranty. The EV will be available in six cities to start with – Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Performance-wise, the two asynchronous motors, one on each axle, produce a combine 408 hp of power and 765 Nm of torque. The SUV does 0-100 kmph in just 5.1 seconds.
Being a luxury vehicle, it features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected tech and augmented reality. It also has a sunroof. Safety-wise, there’s seven airbags, blindspot assist, attention assist, lane departure warnings, and ESP.
Living up to the green credentials, Mercedes says there are 95 per cent recyclable materials used such as hemp, kenaf, wool, cotton, paper, and natural rubber in the interior.
