Bhubaneswar: Heat wave condition continued to prevail across Odisha with maximum day temperature crossing 42 degree Celsius at 4 places on Thursday.
According to the table of maximum temperature in the state released by regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sonepur and Sundargarh were the hottest places with 42.5 degree Celsius, followed by Balangir and Titlagarh with 42.2 degree.
The mercury crossed 40 degree Celsius in 6 other places of the sate on the day. Bhawanipatna recored maximum temperature of 41.2 degree Celsius, followed by Bargarh and Nuapada with 41 degree, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur 40.8 degree and Angul 40.1 degree Celsius.
The temperature in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack remained below 40 on the day. While Bhubaneswar recorded 36.8 degree Celsius, Cuttack recorded 35.6 degree.
