Bhubaneswar: Most parts of the interior Odisha was in the grip of intense cold wave on Tuesday with the night temperature remaining below 10 degree Celsius at three places.
The minimum temperature recorded till 5.30 am was the lowest in Sonepur at 9.2 degree Celsius while Daringbadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded 9.5 and 9.8 degrees respectively.
Apart from this, the night temperature remained at 15 degree Celsius and below in Angul (10.8), Baripada (15), Jharsuguda (14.4), Keonjhar (14), Talcher (14.3), Bhawanipatna (11), Balangir (14) and Koraput (10.6).
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be a marginal rise in the night temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the south coastal districts on November 12 and 13 due to light rainfall. The night temperature will gradually fall by 3-5 degree Celsius at many places across the state during the next two days, it added.
