Mercury Dips To 6°C At G Udayagiri; 10 Other Places In Odisha Record 10°C & Below

Bhubaneswar: With coldwave sweeping Odisha, the mercury plummeted further in the state as G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded 6 degree Celsius last ngiht, the India Meteorological Department informed on Friday.

Eleven places recorded a night temperature of 15 degree Celsius and below:-

G Udayagiri in Kandhamal: 6

Phulbani in Kandhamal: 6.6

Daringbadi in Kandhamal: 7.5

Kirei in Sundargarh: 8.2

Chipilima in Sambalpur: 9.2

Jharsuguda: 9.6

Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi: 9.6

Ranital in Bhadrak: 10

Angul: 10

Sundargarh: 10

Koraput: 10

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack saw mercury dropping to 14.2 degree Celsius and 13.6 degree Celsius respectively.

Check the temperature at other places in the state:

Shallow and moderate fog was also seen in Angil, Phulbani, Sonepur and Bhawanipatna.

While rain forecast for some southern districts of the state for December 9-10, Odisha is likely to witness a rise in the night temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius, the IMD added.
