Mercury May Hover Around 13°C In Bhubaneswar & Cuttack As IMD Predicts Further Fall In Night Temp



Bhubaneswar: The night temperature dropped to 9°C in Daringbadi, a hill station in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.

While G Udayagir was the second coldest place in the state at 10.1°C, Jharsuguda at 10.9°C saw the highest drop of 2.6°C from normal. Phulbani and Rourkela recorded 11°C and 12°C respecti

vely, amid a thick blanket of fog, which reduced visibility to less than 50 metres. Moderate fog was also seen in Koraput (11.6°C), Bhawanipatna (12.5°C), and Sonepur (14.4°C).

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 15.8°C and 15.2°C respectively.

The weather agency has warned of dense fog at one or two places in the districts of Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Balangir and Sonepur till December 6 morning. The night temperature is likely to fall further by 2-3°C across Odisha during the next 2 days with no large change thereafter.

The mercury levels may drop to 13°C in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during this period, it added.
