Bhubaneswar: The mercury plummeted to 17 degree Celsius in Odisha’s twin cities while 15 places recorded 15 degree Celsius and below, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here informed on Monday.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius respectively.
However, G Udayagiri (Kandhamal) was the coldest at 9.6 degree Celsius followed by Similiguda (Koraput) at 10.3 degree Celsius, Phulbani (Kadhanmal) at 11.5 degree Celsius, Kirei (Sundargarh) at 11.7 degree Celsius and Daringbani at 12 degree Celsius.
Similarly, Koraput recorded 12 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda (12.6), Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi (12.8), Keonjhar (13.2) Tipilima in Sambalpur (13.2), Bargarh (13.6), Sundargarh (14), Boudh (14), Hirakud in Sambalpur (14.7) and Angul (15).
Notably, IMD on Sunday had forecast that the temperature would fall across the state by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next 2 days and no large change thereafter.
