Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty winds have been forecast in parts of Odisha from May 15 to 17.
The maximum temperature is likely to rise by 3-4 degrees Celsius at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and by 2-3 degrees Celsius at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati and Ganjam.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Malkangiri and Koraput and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north interior Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
