Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha came under the intense heat wave on Sunday with Titlagarh recording the highest temperature at 41 degree Celsius.
Nine other places that recorded 40 degrees and above were Chandbali (40.8), Cuttack (40), Bhubaneswar (40.2), Talcher (40.1), Bhawanipatna (40.5), Balangir (40.5), Malkangiri (40), Sonepur (40.2) and Boudh (40.5), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its evening bulletin.
The IMD has said that the heat wave condition in Odisha will intensify further with temperature rising by 1-2°C during the next two days as the cyclonic circulation over the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and neighbourhood had become less marked.
On the other hand, IMD has issued a two-day yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam on Tuesday and Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Ganjam and Gajapati districts on Wednesday.
