Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted a further rise in the day temperature in Odisha.
Though there will be no large change in the maximum temperature during next 3 days, the mercury level at many places in the state will witness an upward swing by 3-4°C in the next subsequent 3 days, according to the midday bulletin.
The day temperature in Bhubaneswar is likely to touch 40°C after Pana Sankranti on April 14.
The weather agency has also issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput districts till 8.30 am on Thursday. Light rain/thundershowers may also occur at one or two places in Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.
On April 11, light to moderate rain/thundershowers is likely at a few places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state.
Light rain may continue at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, and Kandhamal during the subsequent 24 hours.
On April 13, light rain is likely to occur one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar. Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Gajapati, and Ganjam may experience light rain on April 14. Dry weather conditions are likely across the state thereafter.
