Bhubaneswar: The temperature in most parts of Odisha will come down appreciably with the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, issuing Nor’wester (Kalabaisakhi) for five days till April 4.
“The cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh and interior Odisha, now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level with a trough line extending up to 3.6 km above mean sea level over the same area. Another cyclonic circulation extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level lies over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. Under its influence, light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and weather likely to be sunny in the remaining districts of Odisha on Sunday,” said the Centre in a release.
On April 1, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh and Sonepur districts with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty surface wind at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Sonepur, Boudha, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Khurda districts.
On April 2, light rain or thundershower is expected at one or two places in coastal Odisha and Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi while thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind is likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsingpur, Khurda, Rayagada and Gajapati districts.
Though there is no thunderstorm warning for the next two days, the release, however has predicted light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts on April 3 and Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Mayurbhanj districts on April 4.
