Met Issues Thunderstorm Alert For Seven Dists Of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued thunderstorm and lighting warning for seven districts of Odisha.

The alert has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts.

According to an IMD bulletin, satellite images of Doppler Weather Radar indicated that thunderstorm accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 knph is likely to occur at most parts in these districts till 9:30 pm.

People in these districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby buildings or other safer locations.

Similar weather conditions will prevail in the state till May 5. The temperature is expected to increase thereafter, the weatherman had forecast.
