Bhubaneswar: The districts of North Odisha and a few places in the South Odisha are likely to receive moderate rain or thundershower in next 24 hours.
The Met office, here said the monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run close to foothills of the Himalayas. The northsouth trough from East Uttar Pradesh to South Odisha now runs from southeast Uttar Pradesh to South Chhattisfargh at 5.8 km above the mean sea level, it added.
It forecast that heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts. Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Dhenkanal.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall has occurred at many places over the interior Odisha and at a few places over the coastal districts with Joshipur in Mayurbhanj district and Boden in Nuapada receiving 5 cm rainfall.
Bhubaneswar and its neighbouring areas will have cloudy sky with light rain in nextr 24 hours. The temperature to vary between 33 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius.
